Who We Are

Burnouts For Veterans: Supporting Our Heroes' Mental Health

In the summer of 2019, my life took an unexpected turn when I was injured while serving in the United States Air Force. The injury not only put an end to my military career but also shook the very core of my being. It was during this difficult period that I realized the pressing need to support my brothers and sisters who have experienced mental health trauma, and their families, who often bear the weight of their loved ones' struggles. Motivated by my personal experience, I decided to establish Burnouts For Veterans, a foundation dedicated to providing assistance and raising awareness for mental health issues within the veteran community.

Reflecting on my journey, I joined the military in November 2013 immediately after graduating from high school. As a flying crew chief on the KC-135R Stratotanker and the new-generation KC-46 Pegasus tanker, I dedicated nearly a decade of my life to serving my country. I embarked on five deployments and spent over 500 days continuously on the road, supporting critical missions. These experiences not only shaped my character but also exposed me to the challenges faced by my fellow service members.

Burnouts For Veterans combines my two passions – the military and the automotive industry – to create a platform that shines a light on the mental health issues affecting veterans and their families. Our foundation strives to raise awareness about the unique struggles faced by those who have served our nation and offer support to help them overcome their challenges.

Through Burnouts For Veterans, we organize events that bring together the automotive community and veterans, fostering a supportive and engaging environment. These events serve as a platform to share stories, experiences, and knowledge surrounding mental health issues. By partnering with local businesses, car clubs, and enthusiasts, we aim to build a strong network of individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of veterans.

In addition to creating awareness, our foundation also provides resources and assistance to veterans and their families. We collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure that individuals in need have access to the care and support they deserve. We strive to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the military community, encouraging open conversations and proactive steps towards healing and resilience.

At Burnouts For Veterans, we believe that by combining our love for the automotive industry with our dedication to supporting veterans' mental health, we can make a meaningful impact. Our ultimate goal is to create a community where veterans and their families feel understood, supported, and empowered to seek the help they deserve.
